This is what the kids slept on every night
Living in absolute poverty, sleeping on metal bed rails, and using cardboard as their mattress is the condition of the fifteen children at Pastor Naynay’s orphanage. As bad as the conditions have been, they are now getting worse. These children are being kicked out onto the streets in less than two weeks. Even in the midst of a hopeless situation, when we visited them last week, they were still full of beautiful smiles while they sang for us.
When we first visited this orphanage several months ago, our hearts went out to them as we made the decision to assist as the Lord provided. Today, however, the situation is much worse. As we sat on the bed, our eyes began to fill with tears as we listened to Pastor Naynay describe the fate of these little ones. These are not just any children in Haiti: these are children that we have played with, loved on, prayed for, and pledged to help.

The current Situation
There were a total of twenty five children in the orphanage. They were eating one meal a day and going to Pastor Naynay’s school. There was a Pastor from the states that had been paying the rent on their building annually. However, last week, he notified Pastor Naynay that his support was ending, and they had three weeks to leave.
The Current Problem and Temporary Solution
Pastor Naynay has found places for ten of the older children to live, but he still has fifteen smaller ones with nowhere to go. For the mean time, Pastor Naynay will move the fifteen children into his three room home. We have left him a little money to help feed them for a while.
Long-term Solution
Our plans were to rent a smaller home until we could build on the donated land. Now, since the children don’t have a home, we have decided to rent a large home and house the children on the lower level with their workers. We will also be providing the children with good food and an education.

$1 a Day Will Feed These Children
We have committed to care for the little ones, but we need your help to do it. Please pray and consider sponsoring a child for only one dollar a day to feed them. Their education and housing cost is a little more, but if we can get between twenty and thirty sponsors, it will cover everything. Most of us drink a Starbucks coffee or eat a value meal at MacDonalds each week. That is about what it will cost to change one of these children’s lives forever!
