First, I want to thank all of our new supporters. This week has been a great encouragement for us. Many of you have asked how you can help us prepare for the field. The first and greatest need is to pray for us daily. We have several milestones that need to develop in a short time. The enemy would love to stop us from reaching Haiti, but we refuse to let that happen. We are going to list some of the most urgent needs at this point in time:

Prayer Needs

Our relationship with the Lord and with each other to grow daily.
Our families to understand God’s calling on our lives and ease the pain of separation.
For our children to transition well and painless. The are very excited!
For us to choose the right house in the right location.
For God to provide a reliable four-wheel-drive vehicle for us when we get to Haiti that is large enough to haul several people at one time.
For our complete support. We have several areas that we need finacial support in:

Monthly budget for our living and ministry expenses is almost $2,000/month. This includes supporting several pastors, remote area outreach, medical insurance, our return to the states throughout the year, etc.
Monthly budget for feeding and housing the children at the orphanage initially is almost $1000/month. $1 a day will feed a child but that amount doesn’t include housing, education, and medical care.
Our one-time departing and setup expenses. This is big, but not for the Lord! It consists of our vehicle, one year’s housing paid up front, furniture, a small sound system, a generator, and a few other minor expenses.

Haiti Facts, for you to further understand our passion

Population of almost 10 million people
800 people per square mile
1 in 10,000 have acess to medical care
The average Haitian will only live to be 59 years old
80% of Haitians will make an average of $100 per year
A skilled worker can earn up to $3 a work day
An unskilled worker may earn $1 a work day
Only 1% of the population is middle class: the majority is lower class
1/3 of all children die before their 5th birthday
12% will die before their 1st birthday
76% of all children are under weight
8 out of every 100 babies will die as an infant
80% of Haiti’s population is illiterate

We have shared these facts not to depress you or manipulate you. We just want you to know why the Gospel must be taught in Haiti. The power of Jesus is the only thing that can turn a nation like Haiti around. Just like you and I, all Haitians were born into this world in need of the saving grace of Jesus. Yes, their, color, culture, and location may be different, but their sin is no greater or worse than ours. Help us take the name of Jesus to all Haitians before the Lord’s return!
