Mike taking the Gospel in a remote and voodoo-controlled area

Mike taking the Gospel into a remote and voodoo-controlled village in Lotsabonite

Hello Friends,

Wow! It has been a while since our last update. Sorry for the delay. We just had our celebration service on July 26th with all our friends and family and had a wonderful time! God did a work during the service, and we praise Him for that! Thank you for all of you who came and supported us. We love you all so much!

It is just overwhelming when I think of how Jesus paid the price for our sins so we could go free from sin. But what is freedom for? Is it for us to have a great lifestyle? Or a new car? Maybe to have the best job or the most successful business? Why are we free? There is nothing wrong with any of the things I just mentioned unless they take first place in our lives. I have been thinking a lot about those things as we prepare for the mission field. I’m so thankful for the lifestyle the Lord has allowed me to live, but now it is time to lay it down and pick up a new life: this life is Christ calling us to go. He is always enough!

This past week has be hard. It seems the enemy has been relentless in his attacks. But, we choose to give the Lord the glory because we are a part of His body and we are His children. These attacks are not against us personally, but they are against Him. Going to the mission field is not about us. It is about taking His word and His message to a people that are entrenched in a lifestyle of spirit-worship and fear.

The Haitian people are a wonderful people who are seeking after the truth, but how can they hear without a preacher and how can they preach unless they be sent? That is where we come into the picture. We have a desire to go to one of the poorest nations in the world and share the truth of God’s Word, but we need you to send us. Our monthly support level is at about 70% of where it needs to be, but it is still climbing. Where we need the biggest support right now is setting up the ministry and our housing. Renting a house in Haiti is different than renting a house in the U.S. In Haiti, they require the entire year upfront. The cost of the home we need is $6000 US dollars. We also have to purchase a stove, refrigiator, beds, chairs, ect. Last but not least, we must purchase a truck. Pastor Nene just called from Haiti, and he has found a used 4-door, 4-wheel-drive Nissan truck for $3500.

As you can see, it can be very expensive to set up a ministry. We are simply asking you to pray and agree with us that the Lord provides this all within the next few days before we leave. Also, pray for my passport to come in quickly! It was lost but now is found after we cancelled it. We are still waiting on my new one to arrive.

Also, the children are doing great. They are very crowded living with Pastor Nene and Pastor Jacques, but they will make it until we get there. Thanks to all of you who have sponsored them. We still need sponsors for some of them at $30 / month.

Again, thank you all so much for your love and support as we are fulfilling God’s plan for our lives and serving Him with our whole hearts! We know that God and His love are always enough for anything and everything we will ever need!

God Bless you all!
