Hey everyone! We just wanted to send out a quick update on the earthquake and our situation here in Haiti. We are still staying at our neighbor’s house for now. We have found a piece of property which we are hoping to purchase as soon as possible located outside the city towards the mountains in Dini. Once the property has been purchased and secured in our name, we will begin building. We will be needing help! If you or anyone you know is interested in coming down to help us build, please email us asap. We are trying to coordinate a few teams to come back to back and get most of it done quickly! We have been very blessed the last few days. We have been going into the Dominican Republic the last three days to get supplies. World Vision donated a truck-load of food, water, mattresses, baby supplies, clothes, shoes, milk, juice, and much more to us on Tuesday. Wednesday, Love A Child blessed us with food and new tents to use while the kids are still sleeping outside and for when we begin building on the property. We have also been able to get gasoline in the DR at a much cheaper price. Yesterday, we were able to help another friend who runs an orphanage of 12 kids gather supplies in the DR and get back to their place. The Lord has provided all that we need so we are very thankful!

Yesterday, we woke up to a huge aftershock. It actually was another quake that measured 6.0. The house we are at is still standing firm with no damage but it definitely shook us all up a little. One of our neighbor’s houses was badly damaged and the entire first floor collapsed. The kids are doing good but are not wanting to sleep inside still. They were all afraid of another earthquake. However, we are all safe and sound at Pastor Vital’s house for now. We are extremely grateful for his kindness.

Marilyn is doing better everyday! Although she has still been having problems breathing and a little cough, she is definitely doing better! She is eating great and having less diarrhea now. We have added baby food to her diet as well and she loves it! World Vision gave us a bunch of diapers, milk, and baby food to help us care for her. Continue to pray for her quick recovery!

Renette is doing good. She was taken to a children’s hospital not far from our house. Mary, our dorm mom, has been staying with her there. We were told she had a fractured knee and had surgery a few days ago. She is still at the hospital but is feeling much better. Continue to pray for her speedy recovery and to come back home soon!

Andrea is trying to plan a short trip back to the states in the next week. We will continue to update on her plans and when she will be arriving. If you want her to speak at your church or organization, please email us asap so we can try to schedule everything. Right now, our greatest needs are funds to rebuild and teams to come down and help us build! You can make donations through our website, www.ReachHaiti.com, which we are able to receive still down here. You may also mail checks to P. O. Box 5945 Maryville, TN 37802. Please make checks payable to ReachHaiti Ministries. The property cost is $8,500 plus fees. The first phase of construction which will be the kids’ dorms is estimated to cost around $25,000. We will update specific amounts as we find out more.  We are wanting to have our first building team down beginning February 8th and each week thereafter. This is still tentative until we finalize the property so we will continue to update. We will need carpenters, plumbers, electricians, block masons, concrete workers, and anyone else who is wanting to help. We also need your prayers right now. Haiti is in great need and will take a long time to recover from all the devastation. We know God will get the glory through all of this somehow. Thank you all so much for your support and prayers! We love you all and will continue to update as much as we can! We have put a few pictures below for you all to see. You can see more on Andrea’s facebook page.

God bless you all!

Michael and Andrea Brewer
